Contrary to the popular belief that US is the most progressive society, child marriage is stll legal in 44 states in the US. Nearly 300,000 minors(mostly girls), under age 18, were legally married in the U.S. between 2000 and 2021, a few were as young as 10. (Sources in the comment)
