In 1999 while Stephen King walking on the side of a road in North Lovell, Maine, he was hit by a van that left him in a ditch with broken bones, ribs, a punctured lung, and he almost died. After he healed he bought the van that almost killed him, and the driver died on kings birthday one year later.
